Not sure why I’m nervous to post this, but I do feel very proud of myself and I think maybe my journey could have a positive influence.  I grew up in an active and healthy family, but during my teen years and early 20s, I made very poor diet choices that still impact me today. I suffered extremely painful cramps and bloating in my upper abdomen. Essentially, I was very unhealthy on the inside, but it wasn’t showing because I had a fast metabolism. But once this slowed down, my unhealthy habits became visible in my weight gain and in my skin.  For over a year I become more and more unhealthy. Not moving my body, and surely not giving it the nutrients it needed. I gained a ton of weight and lost confidence, but in my mind I didn’t. I would cry and complain when I would try on clothes, unable to come to terms with my reality.  In summer 2023, I finally realized what had happened and that I had let myself go. Something switched in my mind and the realization hit.. but not just the realization, the drive and determination to make a change came with it, which to this day I am so grateful for.  I’ve spent the past year and a half working to improve my health and fitness and not only did I lose the weight but I became stronger and healthier. This journey gave me the confidence and belief within myself that I CAN do hard things.  I fell in love with hiking, the feeling after a run, and seeking discomfort. I would love to talk more about my journey, as I have SO much to say.
