@love2hvac: Q Locking Caps for refrigerant. I don't like them but it has been code for 16 years since 2009. By now it's been adopted by all 50 states. IRC states M1411.8 Locking access port caps Refrigerant circuit access ports located butdoors shall be fitted with locking-type tamper-resistant caps or shall be otherwise secured to prevent unauthorized access. IMC 1101.10 Locking access port caps. Refrigerant circuit access ports located outdoors shall be fitted with locking-type tamper-resistant caps or shall be otherwise secured to prevent unauthorized access. Exception: This section shall not apply to refrigerant circuit access ports on equipment installed in controlled areas such as on roofs with locked access hatches or doors. GasGuard brand was discontinued. it was my favorite that used a magnet and a hex head. NoVent is popular in my area and has 2 different keys. The Shield uses 2 prongs and a rubber cover. suppco and Uniweld brands use a hex Allen key. Either way check for the o-ring inside. #love2hvac #hvac
