I love Punt y mes but when you use it in the Negroni it over-emphases the bitter notes. The Carpano Antiche is so much better.

Negroni is the best cocktail! But its 100% a gin based cocktail, its what gives it the dry bitter contrast agains the vermoth. Change the spirit and you have a completely different drink.

There are very few cocktails in my life i have strongly disliked but a negroni is one of them—and i had it in Florence at a reputable location. Something about it just did not agree with my palate
