It's worth adding that Canada imports about 3x more dairy from the US than it exports. So despite the quota and tariffs the trade deficit is in their favor.

In the USMCA, the US slapped tariffs on Canadian lumber to protect the US lumber industry. The move was supposed to raise Canadian’s lumber price to make it less competitive on US market.

canada has strict food regulation, US's hormone heavy beef and dairy is not really bought here because of it. canada doesnt put hormones in their beef, dairy, or even poultry.
