@jasonritter1980: Sometimes it’s time to do the morning dishes but you’re in the kitchen and you realize it’s time to passionately whistle. Every once in a while people will understandably mistake this shirt for a Raiders shirt and start talking football to me and I will look for an opportunity to say, actually this is a band shirt for The Breeders and that’s the one and only Kim Deal’s face in the middle there, but I usually don’t find one. I am so good at faking my way through sports conversations though if I need to!! I mostly ask questions but I make a “remind me?” face while I’m asking like I already know but I just can’t remember the details, and then I’m like, ohhhh right right I think I missed the last game as if I haven’t missed all the games, just the one they are talking about. It’s one of the most baffling (to me) things I still do. I always walk away thinking “what was I worried about happening?” I’m just kind of lying by omission to a friendly person? Why? Sometimes if they are not talking about baseball I say, “I’m more of a baseball guy” which IS true, but if they start talking about baseball, then I run the risk of them finding out exactly how much of a baseball guy I am, which I also generally would like to keep under wraps. But Go Dodgers!! That is my team for life! I have the hat! I watched the World Series when it happened and was very happy for everyone involved!! And then I got a special hat that says World Series on it!!! But I think we’re all allowed to be into whatever things we are, right? Like some people haven’t seen some movies and sometimes I’m like “WHAAAAAT” but people have different lives and when I do that I’m probably like one of those guys who is like why are you wearing the hat if you can’t name the entire team, so I try to not let my nostalgia for things get in the way of learning about other people.
