@saymesemi23: Ramadan Series: Mutabbaq Finally made mutabbaq at home while craving the ones I love from Makkah! So glad I found @homeofswitz mutabbaq sheets in stores, it made the process so much easier and the texture was just right. As I was enjoying it, I couldn’t help but wish I was in Makkah rn, my soul really craves it. ❤️‍🩹 Mutabbaq is a crispy stuffed flatbread that is super popular in Saudi Arabia, Yemen and even parts of Southeast Asia. The name literally means "folded" in Arabic, which makes sense because the dough is wrapped around a filling before frying. It is usually packed with eggs, scallions and meat but there are sweet versions too with cheese, honey or even bananas. The outside gets golden and crispy while the inside stays soft and flavorful. I mixed a lot of scallions with eggs, added some chicken filling and stuffed each sheet before shallow frying. You can air fry them too. I even added cheese to some. The recipe for the chicken filling is pinned in the comments, and the recipe video is on my feed! Just like they serve it in Makkah, I had it with lemon wedges, green chilies and ketchup.
