Little reminder that these are 18 to 22 year olds, usually getting married after dating for only a few months. And encouraged to procreate as soon as possible. It’s disastrous - especially to women.

It really makes me sad how women are pushed into marriage and not exploring life for themselves by themselves first. But I know it’s indoctrination.

My YW president told me that if I went to BYU and graduated without a husband, I'd have graduated with nothing.

The amount of girls who thought like this while I was at BYU-I was scary. I was there for an education and just so happened to find my husband. 😳🤯 So glad to be out.

If you’re going to a church school just to get married, you shouldn’t be going to school. Your degree is to help you ONLY. 🙄

omg that is so true, growing up in the church it was drilled into us as young women that we need to be married at a young age it was such a difficult thing to deal with...

Nobody says you’re going to get married like it has to happen if you go to byu. Also if you think you are going there sit, waiting for someone to just say hey let’s get married it’s just ridiculous

Its not just a women problem. My mother was very forcefull with this stuff in that her son will be married no exceptions or excuses. I left mormonism 13 years ago. The doctrine makes no sense.

Too many young people marry because they can’t live together in the eyes of the church but a lot end in divorce these young people poor things
