Physique preferences are of course a thing and not everyone trains to look like a bodybuilder. I can even say for myself that it’s not my desire to just be as big as possible (it was when I was younger, but not anymore), and I genuinely do prefer a more middle ground “aesthetic” look. But it is pretty funny when people have this concern right out of the gate as soon as they start lifting. It reminds me of that scene in Austin Powers where the police officer is standing 100 feet away from a steamroller that’s driving toward him at a snail pace, and he just stands there in one spot screaming “NOOOOO!!!” until it eventually runs him over. That’s kinda how this works. Muscle growth is such a slow and gradual process that there’s no realistic scenario where you’ll “accidentally” get “too muscular” as a result of lifting. A lot of women especially need to hear this as they’re more often the ones who would typically be most worried about this. This fear is much less common than it used to be as female lifting culture has skyrocketed in recent years, but it’s still worth mentioning. Even if it doesn’t cause someone to shy away from the gym completely, it might still cause them to hold back in terms of their overall training effort (possibly even unconsciously) which will only be detrimental to their results. It’s certainly possible that you might eventually get to a point where you’d prefer not to gain additional muscle size, but if that’s going to happen it’ll usually take years and you’ll see it coming from a mile away. Also remember that if you’re starting out a bit more on the overweight side, as you recomposition and drop fat/gain muscle your overall body size will decrease and you’ll appear less “bulky”, not more. #Fitness #gym #workout #bodybuilding
