@jimmyprincek: #Hezekiah Ochuka was a Kenyan Air Force senior private and the mastermind behind the failed 1982 coup attempt against President Daniel arap Moi's government. Born in 1953, Ochuka was a low-ranking officer who led a group of junior air force personnel in an attempt to overthrow the government on August 1, 1982. The coup was short-lived, lasting only a few hours before it was suppressed by forces loyal to Moi, including the General Service Unit (GSU) and the Kenya Army. Following the coup's failure, Ochuka fled to Tanzania, where he was later extradited to Kenya. He was tried, found guilty of treason, and sentenced to death. In 1987, he was executed by hanging, making him one of the last people to face capital punishment in Kenya. #archives #historia
