I remember when journalists would fairly present both sides of the story & let the reader make up their own mind. It feels most stories now are opinion pieces presented as facts to distort things.

A lot of people keep saying nyt didn’t owe jb time to respond. This is true. But I keep wondering why wouldn’t they want to allow him appropriate time to? That’s not been answered yet

It was 100s of pages and they gave him something like one day to respond. He didn’t have enough time to give a proper response.

Yup. Sure did open my eyes. Next article should be ‘How Hollywood Ruined a Former Trusted Newspaper’s Credibility’.

It’s playing dirty and stacking the deck. I truly hope Justin can at least get discovery from the NYT. It will be very disappointing. It’s 1 thing to report the news it’s another to craft the news

did they send an email or leave a voicemail? imagine no one checked the message and they wake up to that story? they reached out at almost 10 pm on a Friday night 4 days before Christmas.

ACTUALLY… 20yr pr vet here. Reporters go to the subject at last min cuz they dont want the subject to try to get ahead of the piece by leaking it before the reporter can publish

Yup - And why in today’s culture…media outlets are losing the clicks and credibility. Before we would think…well they vetted and must be true…

You describe the approach of a low level rag or whatever - not what I would have expected from one the supposedly preeminent global newspapers whose byline says “all the news fit to print”. It’s obvious that that NYTs relevancy or fear or not being relevant has led it down the decision to print such a trashy article. I suspect that in times past NYT would have given the other party due to time to respond, and this article is a reflection of its slow demise.
