@10newsfirst: The NSW government is trialling AI-assisted technology to keep our wildlife safe around roads, with the first rollout set to begin in coming weeks. The cameras, trained to identify species like kangaroos, koalas and wombats, will be connected to road signs that can warn drivers about animals in the area in real time. Light-coloured pavement will also be installed to help drivers see wildlife more clearly, along with specially designed koala 'cat flaps' that let koalas move away from the road but not towards it. The technology will be rolled out in koala hotspot areas in an effort to keep both drivers and wildlife safe. Click the link in bio for more from 10 News First.
