@wbztv: The iconic Pink House is no more. The century-old home in Newbury, Massachusetts located off the Plum Island Turnpike was reduced to rubble by demolition crews Tuesday morning. Some community members in recent years rallied to prevent the destruction of what they called a "beloved iconic landmark," with one donor pledging up to $1 million to preserve the two-story home that has been vacant for decades. But the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service said the home contained asbestos that could threaten the surrounding marsh, and declared last year that it would have to be demolished. They’re all lying. I tried to buy it and work with them. They did anything that was possible not to make that sale happen because they wanted the land end of story.
