The only reason why certain tornadoes are not rated EF-5 is because of politics! That’s really why! Apparently small towns don’t like to be known to be hit by historically devastating twisters.

Insurance claims aren’t based on tornado intensity, only what damage it did to your property specifically. You don’t get more or less money for different ratings if it did the same amount of damage.
