HOW TO CAN CHILI How to make the chili : Cook 2 pounds of ground beef once the beef is cooked add in 8 cans of sauce 8 cans of mixed vegetables 4 cans of black beans 4 cans of pinto beans 4 cans of diced tomatoes 1 bottle of water 5 packed of chili seasoning Mix it all together place on low heat and let come to a simmer. Be sure to boil your rings and lids while chili is cooking How to can the chili: Wash jars your jars. Once the chili is made fill the jars with your chili leaving 1 inch headspace. Debubble with a stick getting all the air out. Wipe down the tops of your jars with white vinegar and add your rings and lids finger tip tight. Add to your canner. Once you get a steady stream of air out a timer on for 10 minutes. After the 10 minutes add your weight and bring your pressure up to 10 pounds (or where you lives pressure) once you get it to pressure set a timer for 90 minutes for quarts. Once the timer goes off turn off your burner and DONT TOUCH THE POT. Let the pressure come down by itself. Once it’s at 0 open the pot and put the jars on a towel for 24 hours without touching. After the 24 hours take the rings off and wash the jars. Makes enough for 14 quart jars They are shelf stable for 18+ months.
