True story last time I went in 2023. Went to a restaurant and did not have my SUICA charged to pay the bill. When I had a hiccup in my translating, a random bilingual man came and helped sort it out.

guy helped me on the first day navigate ikebukuro station, and last day I ran put of yen on the train back to the airport and a lady paid for my ticket (a few bucks). I'll always have respect for them
