Who is spreading these lies 💔 Also you can concede at any time, the game can't hold you hostage

Unfortunately, for Wizards sanctioned tournaments, conceding at instant speed is the official rule, so you saying it is false is misleading.

Another common misconception is that "casual" means "low power level" when it really just means there aren't any stakes.

I have to disagree with that last take. all tournaments should adhere to magic rules which includes 104.3a. conceding in a game changing way only applies to multiplayer formats.

Conceding or "scooping" is at instant speed. No tournament I've ever played in has ever put a sorcery speed limit on it.

Concede at any time. This is a rule. Don't use unsportsmanlike conduct as a rationalization of when you should exit the game

Nah conceding needs to be more encouraged. Let’s hurry and shuffle up again

The tapping for blocking was an early mistake that a lot of people when MTG started made and taught to other people in the late 90's.

My god I hate to be that guy but in tournaments they have no choice but to let you concede even in response to split second. Rule 104.3a. I hope you're having fun with proper MTG though!

The “tap to block” thing is weird. When I teach I actively say blockers dont tap, but I have friends who’ve played for a year+ still doing it. It’s just a phenomenon even when taught right

well correct me if I'm wrong but lands can use the stack in many ways if the land has an etb you get priority but most times that's not helpful

My playgroup has a joke where we tap any amount of remaining mana to scoop just to make the other player nervous for half a second.

I "tap" blockers just like vigilance creatures, turn it just enough so opponents know which creatures I'm using, then back to normal state after combat

when someone scoops just so I don't get triggers or lifelink I just act as if they're still alive and continue with my turn.

My first game someone told me the tap symbol for an ability means the ability happens when the creature happens to be tapped like during attacks and you can’t tap the creature for just the ability.
