Why not just clamp to the metal your cutting or welding then, that magnet not sticking to aluminum anyway

Magnet gets hot from loose connection and looses it magnetism then is useless. Not a great idea!😏

Always been using earth magnets on my mig and my plasma cutter. Never had a problem.

I’d take the nut out of the bottom clamp jaw, take that crimp off and bolt the pieces together
