@birdlifemalta: 🔎 Meet the Eurasian Wryneck! A master of disguise from the woodpecker family, this migratory bird blends perfectly with tree bark. 🪵🦜 When threatened, it twists its head like a snake to startle predators—earning its name in many languages, including "Torcicollo" in Italian! 🇮🇹 Unlike other woodpeckers, it doesn’t peck trees but has similar zygodactyl feet 🦶 and a long tongue to feast on ants and worms. Keep an eye out for this elusive bird in Malta from March to May and August to October! 👀 Editing by Yusuf Gamal.
