I think it’s fine if it’s a name you both really love. I would feel bad if my friend was in love with a baby name but only didn’t use it because I named my child that specific name. Life’s too short

My son has a really unique name ! Like she always complimented me …hid the name her WHOLE pregnancy and bam announcement is same spelling/name as mine. I was LIVID and so was everyone we knew 😭

Bonded with a coworker over our infertility… we ended up adopting/choosing her name & explained why we chose the name we did to her and 4 years later she got pregnant and named her daughter the same.
