I used to live in a trail crew home where like 12 of them rotated through 2 rooms depending on their weeks they actually needed a bed and a roof (almost never). they were the best roommates and also taught me tai chi

My uncle used to work in forestry. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him in anything other than sweats and hiking boots. He’s also a nature photographer. He’s definitely a character.

I saw a small woman trail crew hiking up Mount Rainier to Camp Muir in flip flops and shorts to snowboard back down. She passed me. Fast.

Former ranger. Trailcrews wilderness and even the backcountry scientists are a different breed. In the best way but not in the bring them to mainstream society way.
