Fun fact: the entire city smells like a lit fart. You do get used to it after a day or two, though.... totally worth going! Lots to do in Beppu!

We took an overnight lux ferry from Osaka to Beppu, then road tripped 3 days across Kyushu via Kurokawa Onsen and Mt Aso Volcano. Was Epic and no tourists. Flew from Kumamoto to Narita and out.

LOVE Beppu! There's a great aquarium next to the monkey park a short bus ride away that made for a great day.
