Complications from seizures depend on the type of seizure, the activity the victim was performing when the seizure occured, how knowledgeable and competent by-standers or relatives are in safety and first aid during seizure attacks etc. One feared complication is a dangerous heart rhythm which can cause sudden cardiac arrest and rescuers must be able to quickly recognise when this happens and take the right actions in other to help increase the chances of survival of the victim.
