Henry Cavill’s Superman is the best Superman we had and will ever have in Live Action. isn’t “dark” — he’s real. Zack Snyder understood that Superman isn’t born the perfect Boy Scout — he becomes that through struggle. In Man of Steel, Clark faces doubt, fear, and the question of whether humanity is even worth saving. In BvS, he carries the weight of being a god in a cynical world, and still sacrifices his life for people who didn’t trust him. His resurrection in Justice League is the completion of his arc — he returns stronger, certain of his role as Earth’s protector. And along the way, he performs the most insane feats we’ve ever seen in live action: surviving re-entry from space, tanking a nuclear blast, trading blows with Doomsday, and moving faster than the eye can track. Snyder didn’t “ruin” Superman — he gave us the most powerful, most relatable, and most earned Superman arc in film history. If you think Superman should just smile and save cats from trees without ever growing as a person, maybe you don’t understand the character. What most people don’t realize is that Lex Luthor actually won in BvS — not just in the movie, but in real life. His entire plan was to make the world fear Superman, doubt him, and see him as a threat instead of a hero. And what happened? In the real world, so many people watched Cavill’s Superman and said, “He’s too dark” or “That’s not my Superman,” completely ignoring his sacrifices and growth. That’s literally exactly what Lex wanted — to turn people against the one man who could save them. Zack Snyder wrote it so well that audiences actually became part of the story without even realizing it. The irony? By the time Superman came back in Justice League — stronger, more hopeful, and fully embracing who he is — the haters had already proven Lex’s point.
