@hannahstitfall: The cutest little floofs 🐹🐾🥹 European wild hamsters at one point could be found throughout Europe, stretching from western Europe right the way across to Stepp regions. Their natural habitat is open grasslands, farmland and meadows, but due to agriculture intensification couple with urbanisation, they are now only found in pockets across their once natural range. They live in burrows underground only coming out to feed, primarily at dawn and dusk. The has meant that mass urban development have destroyed so much of their habitat, and also the move towards monoculture farming has meant they can’t get enough nutrients from different food sources, which has led to hamsters having less reproductive success and not being healthy. Vienna (where I filmed these) still has a healthy population of them within the cemeteries, which now act as lifeline for them ❤️ Possibly one of my favourite species to film – they almost don’t look real! 😂 Hope you like them 🐹🐾✨ #wildlife #wildanimals #hamster #hamsters #wildlifephotography #hannahstitfall #fyp #cuteanimals
