In Ireland you get buried in 3 days, in England it's 3-6 weeks.

My dad wasn’t embalmed, but he was kept cold, he still looked like my dad just over 3 weeks later 💔

Non of my family members were embalm. Everyone of them on the third day were looking normal. I don't understand the whole embalming, when body will still rot in the ground. Only many talks business is

Unless you keep them frozen until you are ready. I saw my husband 4 days after he died and only his head looked a little swollen

Cremate and celebrate your loved ones memory at your home when you’re ready. The funeral and burial business is the biggest scam and they prey on people in grief.

I’ve opted for a direct cremation, no funeral or wake. I’ve told my family to have a holiday with the money they would have spent on a funeral.

Does the body break down even though you're embalmed, just not as fast?

So, this is why our funeral director urged us not to see my brother. The ME had his body for a week before he was released to us. All I could do was say my goodbyes through the door where they had him

I have family in Mexico and they are buried the next day without embalming. Kind of wild compared to the US . Party the same day of the death , church and burial next day . Facts !!

Embalming is a waste of money. My father was in a fridge for weeks on end during the Covid pandemic awaiting cremation. He didn’t go anywhere! :)

My loved one was not embalmed. What you explain is not always the case. They did not smell or swell. In fact they looked like they aged and looked older and frail and got thinner.
