Unless you keep them frozen until you are ready. I saw my husband 4 days after he died and only his head looked a little swollen

I have family in Mexico and they are buried the next day without embalming. Kind of wild compared to the US . Party the same day of the death , church and burial next day . Facts !!

Embalming is a waste of money. My father was in a fridge for weeks on end during the Covid pandemic awaiting cremation. He didn’t go anywhere! :)

My loved one was not embalmed. What you explain is not always the case. They did not smell or swell. In fact they looked like they aged and looked older and frail and got thinner.
