Let’s explain it this way. You go to a cafe, the cafe owner has to pay more for beans and coffee. You now pay more for a meal. On top of that tourism reduces as the US is more expensive to come to.

If you buy American green beans, those green beans need to be grown on a farm. That American farmer uses fertilizer and that fertilizer needs potash. American potash most likely comes from Canada. That farmer needs farm equipment which could have came from Canada or at least parts of that equipment. Those irrigation systems may have been made in China. So unless the US plans on building and mining everything which is impossible.
