Fleet I use to work for required to replace drums, wheel seal, and s-cam bushings anytime shoes wore out. Works great for a fleet but hard to recommend as a repair shop.

I always change brakes with drums and s-cam and bushing every time, cheap Insurance

I always check the s cams for play. I inspect every wheel end component. You already have it apart so you might as well do your job the right way 😅

That uneven brake wear caused by the s cam bushings being worn, everyone would just throw new slacks without even diagnosing the issue
