your idea of baptism of babies to cleanse original sin isn't biblical. we are all born with a sinful nature, because of Adam. you can't wash it away as a baby.

Also Catholics believe in Original Sin meaning we are all inately born sinners inherently from Adam and Eve, therefore the baptism cleanses us from original sin

You can’t baptize babies the baptism is for forgiveness of sins a baby doesn’t know what’s right or wrong has committed no sin John the Baptist baptized for repentance and in Acts 2:38 it says IN THE NAME for forgiveness of sins we don’t need the one baptism of John because we can repent ourselves and get baptized

A great answer I got for this once was “ if your kid is sick why do you take him to the dr if he can’t decide if he wants to go or not “ ( because we want the best for them ) ❤️
