How do you take manual on a forearm? Put your stethoscope on the radial pulse and just place your cuff like in the video?

You shouldn’t be taking a bp on an arm with a fistula at all.

Had a patient with severe Steven Johnson Syndrome. Was doing a 3 hour IFT. I had to get BPs from her calf because that was the only location where her skin wasn’t covered in blisters and sloughing off

Don't wrap a BP cuff around the AVF arm, the fistula would blow!

yep. in a nursing home patients often have heavy sweaters on and upper arm is not going to work for 20 patients. it would take all day just to get bp. forearm works well.

Usually works but HAS to be the right size cuff and you can’t put it too tight, otherwise it will be falsely high (with automatic BP machines)
