Vet here, night shift accidentally gave 0.5ml of insulin instead of 5units 😭 literally used ALL the dextrose ampules at the clinic and thankfully the patient survived

my current hospital uses insulin pens exclusively outside of insulin drips. it feels ridiculous getting a cosign on the pens cuz it's hard to make a mistake but I still will not stop doing the co-signs just in case.
