It really does suck to hear people use that word all the time. I lived with a narcissist for 15 years. He created his own reality. I chose to stay it and that folks, made me the victim.

I’m so glad you have brought this up and explained it in this way. I am so tired of the “trend” where people label others behavior they don’t like as, Narcissistic or Toxic, Gaslighting, etc.

We are all sinners therefore we all have that fleshly narcissism about us that automatically puts self preservation first at all costs. Those who truly follow Jesus know how to keep this fleshly narcissism in check, but the majority do not.👍😉

A true narcissist has the most insecurity. They operate out of fear someone will see their insecurities/ failures. There are various types of narcissism. I found a malignant narcissist. Spent a decade with him. I knew his insecurities. I loved him entirely. But I was never going to love him enough to help him heal. He did I believe love me more than anyone. And as best he could. In the end, he could never control me. And it tore us apart. It took me over a year in therapy to see the narcissism. I didn’t know. I just thought he was insecure. And controlling. And never wrong. And lived in his own world where the world was against him. He was the victim. He put everyone didn to make himself look better. If I had known about narcissism, I could have saved so much pain. But we shared our children. As a family we did well. As a couple we failed. I feel sorry for him. He just will never find true happiness. I will. And it’s sad. His trauma is keeping him from growing. In the end, I’m grateful to be out of the situation. I agree using the word at every turn definitely lessens thd true trauma of being a narcissist or with one.
