So if I’m deliberately following an internal rule of how long to look into each persons eyes but then I get weirded out by whether I’m looking into the right or left eye, that’s not my ADHD?

So I have to remind myself to look at people in the eye while talking, I don’t remember peoples faces because I don’t really look at them if that makes sense. Is that not normal?

but because ADHD is less stigmatized then autism I think a ton of people who have been diagnosed as ADHD actually have autism instead ( or both of course) but I see this observationally a lot

I have adhd. I remember someone telling me that not looking people in the eye makes you look untrustworthy, because I always struggled with it, so now it feels like I bore into people's souls

See, I only have ADHD and can look people in the eyes, but WHICH EYE AM I SUPPOSED TO USE like I end up going between the two? Do people just like, look right between the eyes?

so i look around alot while talking, but in a group of people try to divide my eye contact equally so im not being rude. but if i make eye contact to long i physically stiffin up and start thinking..

I see this with a lot of people diagnosed with ADHD as kids. I think their peditricians/psychiatrists/assessors thought ASD would be more stigmatizing so they just called it ADHD.

Just a note that adhd is also neurodivergent. Neurotypical is not synonymous with not-autistic…. Allistic means not autistic.

What does getting diagnosed do for me? I have suspicions and think about getting assessed, but I always come back to the thought “what will a diagnosis do for me?” other than validate.
