@invictusinspections_tx: Yes, there’s a right and wrong way to install tile. Hollow sounds below your floor tile typically indicates that the tile was not probably bonded to its substrate, and this can due to various reasons, such as an insufficient amount of thin-set, failing to properly press the tiles down, or even installing the tiles over open voids. When it’s minor, this can sometimes be repaired by injecting mortar through the tile. However, when this issue is apparent at multiple floor tiles, the tile usually needs to be completely redone, which can be quite costly. #floor #floors #flooring #tiles #remodel #remodeling #renovation #homeinspection #homeinspector #homeinspections #homemaintenance #homebuyer #homebuyers #homebuying #firsttimehomebuyer #firsttimebuyers #househunting #homeselling #homeinspo #realestate #realestatetips #dfwrealestate #dallasrealestate

Rindal :
I would just replace the tiles that are not bonded correctly. I bet you can find an extremely close match. again, depends on what this is for, rental, resale, etc.

Genuinely curious would this cause cracks in all the improperly installed tiles when expansion/ contraction occurs or would that not affect that aspect?
