No sensors, no lidar means lower costs which explains part of of Tesla's good margins. This is not technological innovation, but cost cutting. Autopilot & Full Self Driving are misleading names.

He admitted to pressing the brake, and in other clips he never even turned it on and just manually drove into the wall saying it was autopilot. It was all an ad for a lidar company
