Yea I don’t sell anything so I don’t feel too bad about making versions for myself. Pottery is such an expensive hobby I can’t really justify not using all my stuff.

I think duplicating something a small business is doing is fine, as long as you’re not in the same regional mrkt… If you’re within the same vicinity of said small biz, then absolutely do not recreate

It is always better to acknowledge our inspiration and give credits where due, you can give credits to your inspiration, small start to big change. All artists deserve credit for their work.

You know what used to be an original idea? The cup and the plate. If you’re handmaking something similar to another artist, you still are not copying their work. It will never be the same. “Copy” away

When any monetary gain comes from it then it’s a no brainer. I would argue even just gaining ‘clout’ or attention for it would be weird if it wasn’t credited.
