In the beginning, I didn’t tell anyone outside my family & bff that I was trying sobriety; again. I didn’t believe in myself since I tried so many times before & felt hopeless. 😬 After 90 days, I finally announced my sobriety. Outside of being pregnant with Madison, I can’t remember the last time I didn’t drink for 90 days straight. 😳THAT gave me the confidence to finally tell people. It doesn’t have to take that long for you though. Once I began recovering out loud, anyone who read those posts were keeping me accountable.🙌 {or at least that’s how I thought about it} What would they say if I gave up? Or would they lose faith in themselves too? I still have times when I feel like a hypocrite because of who I used to be. 👀 When those thoughts come up, remind yourself of 2 things: *People (YOU) are allowed to change - more importantly, people should EVOLVE - sobriety is definitely evolving! *If the people you are worried about are the same person at 45 as they were at 25 years old, there’s a more important issue they need to address. And if it were me, you know that would be my reply if/when made to feel uncomfortable. . 😏 Sidenote: when you have genuine confidence that comes with sobriety, you feel better about telling people the way it is in an adult manner. It helps when you’re not drunk because you can clearly decipher when someone is being an a$$ about something without getting too emotional. 💯 . If you want to surround yourself with more sober women, send me a 🔥 emoji & I’ll add you to my FREE Sober Curious Facebook group! I hold monthly fitness & sobriety challenges with PRIZES!! You will receive daily mindset, sobriety, & fitness tips, as well as a supportive online community with like minded goals! 😍 It’s completely free to join! It’s also a great time to begin working towards any new year’s goals you have! It’s never too early to practice 😆 . . . . . . #soberliving #soberaf #riseandthrive #fitmomsrock #womenover40 #sobercurious #neverdrinkingagain #hangoverfree
