THE SAME AFRICA YOU EXPLOITED IS THE SAME AFRICA YOU NOW WANT TO REJECT! When Europeans came to Africa to take our mineral resources, exploit our land, and enslave our forefathers, it was not a problem. When millions of Africans were forcefully taken from their homeland and transported across the Atlantic to work as slaves and contribute to the economies of foreign countries, it was not a problem. When Africa's wealth was extracted to build industries and enrich foreign nations, nobody called it an immigration crisis or an African problem. But today, when Africans seek opportunities in those same countries, suddenly, African immigration has become a problem! Have you ever stopped to ask yourselves why? You took our resources. You took our people. You exploited our ancestors and benefited from their forced labour. Generations of Africans suffered so that other nations could prosper. Yet, when Africans seek better opportunities in the countries whose wealth was partly built through their ancestors' suffering, some people suddenly want to shut the door in their faces. Let us talk about history! Africa existed long before European colonialism. African civilisations had established kingdoms, trading networks, systems of governance, architecture, and centres of learning long before many Europeans encountered them. Yet, too often, African history is ignored, and the contributions of our ancestors are downplayed. My great-grandfather told me stories about the past, and those stories remind me that we must never allow anyone to convince us that Africa had no civilisation before Europeans arrived. Africa has a rich history, and our people deserve respect. Now, the same countries that benefited from slavery, colonialism, and the extraction of African resources are complaining that Africans are coming to their land. Let me ask you a simple question: If African resources and African labour were welcome when they benefited your economy, why are Africans suddenly unwelcome when they seek opportunities for themselves? We are not saying that countries should have no immigration laws. Every country has the right to establish its immigration policies. But you cannot discuss African immigration honestly while pretending that history does not exist. You cannot celebrate the wealth accumulated through centuries of exploitation and then act as though Africans have never contributed anything to your prosperity. Africa is not begging the world to recognise our humanity. We are demanding the respect that our history, our sacrifices, and our contributions deserve. You cannot take from Africa for centuries and then act surprised when Africans want a share of the opportunities in the world you helped shape. History matters. African lives matter. And Africa will never forget! #AfricanHistory #StopAfricanStereotypes #AfricanImmigration #SlaveryHistory #Colonialism
