Absolutely going to do research. It still amazes me how much black history I don’t know. The school system definitely made sure to keep things in a bubble.

Claudette Colvin was 14/15 and pregnant , Rosa Parks was already in the movement, who you think was the better advocate

She didn’t have a child out of wedlock, she was a minor unable to give consent.

it would've put that lil girl in a place of danger too, making her the face of a movement like that. she was safer this way.

Adult, pillar of the community, light skin, not from a bad neighborhood, no child out of wedlock. They chose the whitest black woman for a good cause and it worked

This is what I was fighting for on the last video. We don't win when we tear down a black woman to prop up another.

I thought Rosa Parks was a part of the NAACP, and the civil disobedience of not giving up your seat was all part of the plan

Also, Claudette was dark skinned and they felt like that would be less digestible for the ⚪️. Rosa Parks was a secretary for the cities NAACP branch too, so they already knew her

I was raised and even taught by racist people, anything black got quickly passed over barley mentioned. I'm only now actually learning the real black history of America
