I was that kid. Always so embarrassing when other parents would notice but as I grew older those parents became my parents 💕I love and appreciate them till my last breath

My (ex) best friends parents always showed up for me even when my parents didn’t. We aren’t friends anymore but I will always love and appreciate her and her family for always being there for me.

not every parent has support like that. some of us single parents are completely alone. alone with providing. alone with supporting. it might have been a 1 time thing for that parent. a sacrifice

That's so sad and irritating! My daughter has a school performance in kindergarten, I was there but she overlooked me and I could see her about trying not to cry bc she thought mommy wasn't there.

My sister began showing up for me when I was in high school and she was in college. She told me later she berated them so by senior year they actually willing showed up. Obviously my sister is amazing

Completely agree but there are circumstances where the only person that would show up literally can’t. Life happens. Sickness… emergency… other child issues…

my daughter is 3 she has a recital coming up, I'm buying plane tickets so her grandparents can come see her.( i don't have the best relationship but they love her and want to be there)
