Even if you have a million is 401k at retirement- it’ll still not be enough ever! It’s still good but not as good as pension where you had a guarantee

Correct. Many 401K plans take hefty admin fees. With inflation or hyperinflation, $1 MM is nothing. It may worked for some if they invested a lot in a better 401K plan b/c economy hasn't crashed YET.
