15 MINUTES. THAT’S ALL. 😭🙏🏽 The police told us if we had made it back to our vehicle 15 minutes earlier, we would have witnessed the shooting. What started as a simple night of enjoying ourselves in downtown Savannah last night turned into a testimony I never expected to have. We walked about 2 miles looking for a rooftop, stumbled into one, enjoyed a cocktail, and eventually found the rooftop we originally came downtown for. They told us they were closing in 5 minutes, so we went in, looked around, enjoyed the view, and left. We had NO idea what God was doing. When we returned to our vehicle, the entire area was blocked off with yellow and red police tape. Traffic was backed up, and police were working a crime scene. We couldn’t get to my truck and had to wait. Before the two hours were even up, the police called me. They had run my tag and told me: “Your vehicle was involved in a shootout.” When I finally saw my Lexus, it had been shot more than 10 times. And out of a parking lot FULL of cars, mine was the ONLY vehicle that was shot up. My first thought wasn’t about my truck. I STARTED THANKING GOD RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF THE POLICE. A truck can be replaced. MY LIFE CANNOT. In that moment, God reminded me: “YOU ARE COVERED IN MY BLOOD, COMING AND GOING.” 🙏🏽 This is why I am a PRAYING WOMAN. I pray, I read God’s Word, and I stand on His promises. PSALM 91. PSALM 23. Looking back, I can see God ordering our steps. That rooftop closing in five minutes. Us leaving when we did. And finding out that 15 minutes could have changed EVERYTHING. BUT GOD. I don’t know what would have happened, and I don’t need to know. I KNOW WHO KEPT ME. This isn’t for sympathy. THIS IS MY TESTIMONY. Please get your life right with God. Pray. Forgive. Love your people. Check on your family. And please be safe—not just tonight, but in general. Tomorrow is not promised. Last night I walked away from a vehicle that was shot up, but I walked away ALIVE. I’M STILL HERE. I’M STILL STANDING. I’M STILL GOING HOME. COVERED IN HIS BLOOD, COMING AND GOING. 🙏🏽❤️ PSALM 91.
