I was super social when I was addicted.. now sober I do not like being around but a hand full of people. My peace is way more important than their presence. If I need to talk to someone I’ll talk to my wife and God

I understand completely and have been sober almost three years and have been attending AA during this time . I’m halfway through the steps. I am now having difficulty with the idea as identifying as an alcoholic. Saying “ Hi I’m Tim and I’m an alcoholic “ I am now conflicted with this as I think this title may be holding me back from now getting the best out of my life. Yes AA has helped me greatly but my close support network have been invaluable. Yes I agree completely , we must connect with others.🙏✨😊

I’m still struggling, and it’s petty hard to come here and write a comment about my disorder. I just wish that I never had that first try of that sh*t. Staying al*ve with this kinda disorder is hard.
