She could be on a medication. That could cause banding.

Meds like, thyroid meds, blood pressure, diabetic meds, GLP-1, even previously having babies (recently), internal body temp, all will cause bands

I think it looks great, level 5 ash always goes darker. It will still lighten.

Please consider, what meds or supplements is the client taking. I have a thyroid condition and my color can be very unpredictable and mind you I was a color specialist for 25 years!

Look up filler formulas. Her hair might have been compromised by hard water or minerals in the hair. The filler formula will help the hair hold on to the color and evenly

Leidy - you’re an amazing hairstylist! The fact that you’re so upset over this shows how much integrity and passion you have for this career. Take the time and feel the feels but don’t dwell in it ❤️

Think all stylist should have clients sign a release & waiver for any color correction or don’t do them. Ppl are not honest & want a miracle

Bad days are not a measure of your worth, they’re simply moments in time. It’s okay to feel down sometimes; these days are temporary, and they don’t define the incredible person you are. ❤️

Sounds like porosity issue. You did everything you could. Don’t beat yourself up. It happens to everybody.

In color corrections there is NO guarantee the color will be 100% uniform. Especially if hair has more than 1 shade & is over processed in certain areas. High porosity hair will always process darker.

20 years as a stylist and I have only taken a handful of corrections. You can’t guarantee a correction, you just can’t, and sometimes it take hours upon hours. Within the last year or 2, has she changed anything about her meds, health issues, etc. Sometimes people have strange hair too… 💔

so always go back to you formulation guid and trust it. so if your aiming for a lever 5 you don't want to go lower than a level 5 that's for sure especially when using ash it always go darker hun 🙏

You could consider filling her hair first since she tends to fade quickly and also maybe not adding so much ash tones because as we know cooler tones tend to look much darker than warm tones

I would have used 6 chocolate ash becuase her hair is orange not red under toned which won’t hold the brown. You put too much ash in and went too dark. Stay away from 4 and 5 for light brown.
