please clean your pool first. we had algie and just put it in the pool it did nothing for a couple weeks. We drained pool cleaned it then refilled the pool. We haven't had any issues since

I got one last year and my pool never got green. Even after rains or not running the the pump all the time

It’s fine for a vinyl lined pool but will raise the copper level too high and stain plaster greenish blue 👍🏻
