They have gone to great lengths to show specifically Mark and Gemma was at the very least greatly influenced/manipulated by Lumon. We don’t know the details but it’s too harsh to fully blame OMark.

We can see the hold that Lumon has on the world of Severance and the lengths they go to, though. Mark was absolutely taken advantage of and manipulated and I don’t think pointing that out absolves him
