I feel validated for making my medical binder. I’m tired of paying for the Rheum to run the same labs Endocrine did 2wks ago, wait for them to get test/imaging reports, etc. 😭

My mama had a 5” binder with my daddy’s medical history because he saw military and civilian docs and they didn’t talk. We called it the binder of knowledge.

My mom’s doctor is not nearly this excited when I turn up to her appointments, but that’s because I ask 70 billion questions while mom sits there & says “oh yeah, I forgot about that.” 😂😅

I knew a patient advocate who passed recently who was tired of filling the same forms every time they went to a doc. They tattooed a QR code on the back of their neck that gave them all records.

I did this for my grandparents. I had a resident question my reasoning for weaning him off his laxis (his tongue was starting to crinkle) and the doctor laid into him and said I know more😂😂

Oh, my Mom has a tri-fold brochure… meds, PMH, PSH, driver’s license, insurance cards, names and numbers for specialists, advanced directive info.

That was me. I’m the granddaughter. I had their meds memorized and I set up grandma’s meds for her weekly. I still set up grandpa’s for him.

I’m now doing it for my husband too. Last time i sent him to the doctor with notes, and the doctor sent him home with notes and said he knows I’d appreciate it. I do, I do 🥹.

My OB needed my last ultrasound while I was in active labor. The nurse was about to get my husband and I exclaimed (despite the pain),"Tell him its on the green binder, just read the labels."
