I lost the little retaining clip years ago and my truck has never had an issue with the fumoto valve. I was nervous of that exact thing for a while but never had an issue so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've used Fumoto drain valves for years with zero problems. On road, off road, farm equipment, construction equipment, etc. Never once had an accidental release or failure.

a lot of semis actually have them and they claimed they've never had a problem and never had that tab either

I had a stuck oil solenoid that drained all of my oil from my engine, made it to a nearby shop, got it and the oil replaced and the car was fine. these are probably the plastic engine people.

Maybe it's because I love old cars that have had oil leaks until I fixed them... but why do people not have at least 5 quarts of oil in their trunk? I have oil, atf, coolant, windshield fluid lol I like to be prepared...
