I finally decided to give my TikTok profile a brand new look by adding a rainbow border around my profile picture. I wasn’t randomly given it by TikTok—I added it myself because I thought it looked clean, colorful, and made my profile stand out from everyone else’s. The rainbow border instantly made my account feel more unique, and every time I opened my profile, it caught my attention. It gave my page a fresh appearance and made it look more complete. Even though it’s just a small visual change, it somehow makes my profile feel much more alive. Sometimes the smallest details can make the biggest difference, and this rainbow border is definitely one of those details. After updating my profile picture, I expected one more thing to happen. I kept wondering, where is my 99+ notifications badge? I gave my profile a glow-up, made it look better than ever, and now I’m waiting for the notification tab to match the new look. Every time I open TikTok, I can’t help but tap on the inbox just to see if that magical little “99+” has finally appeared. Instead, I’m greeted with the same notification count, leaving me wondering where all the likes, comments, follows, reposts, and shares decided to disappear to. It’s honestly funny to think about. My profile picture is out here looking like it belongs to someone with millions of followers, while my notifications are acting like they’re on vacation. The rainbow border is doing its job perfectly by making my account stand out, but my notification tab seems determined to stay quiet. It’s almost like the notifications saw the rainbow border and decided they needed more time to prepare before showing up. Maybe they’re planning the biggest surprise ever. Maybe they’re all arriving at once. Or maybe they’re just taking the longest route possible through TikTok’s servers. I didn’t add the rainbow border because I thought it would magically make my videos go viral overnight. I added it because I liked how it looked and because customizing a profile is part of making an account feel like your own. Still, after making my profile look this good, I can’t help but joke about where my 99+ notifications are hiding. It almost feels like I’ve completed half of the mission.
