@ichbinmel_: There is so much more info on this I just couldn’t fit it all in the pictures lol. The plait was actually pretty common in Europe amongst the poverty stricken areas but was also used by some members of higher society. It also held superstitious belief to it. Many people believed that when illness left the body, it would then live in the hair so it became like an amulet for people to wear to keep themselves free of illness and evil spirits. This is also where some people call them “elf locks”. This is a matte and not a lock however many people would separate the matte to make it easier to do day to day things and work so sometimes they did appear as “locks”. This is purely educational and not to say that one person “created” one thing or another. #poland #poland🇵🇱 #slavic #slav #polishplait #plait #plaits #locks #polishhistory #polandhistory #museum #museumtok #historytok #HistoryTime #slavicculture #culture #culturetiktok #polka #plicapolonica #hair #hairtok #hairstyles #europe #europeanculture #europeans #krakow #kraków #warsaw #warsawpoland #polandtravel #łódź #braids #superstition #superstitions #midieval #midievaltiktok #fyp #fypシ #fypage #fypシ゚viral #fyppppppppppppppppppppppp #fypp #fyppp #pickles #picklesarelife #polska🇵🇱 #polska #polishgirl #polskatiktok #polishculture #polishfood #viral #trending
