If I was coming from a sport bike with a fixed fairing, I would grab a road glide as it has a fixed fairing as well and he won’t have to deal with fairing drop weight. 2020 and up M8

19 or newer if your going m8. wouldn't even bother with 17/18 due sumping and other motor issues. on a budget you can get a 107 m8 touring under 16k easily if your willing to travel.

2013 rushmore body change. way more aftermarket body choices with rushmore. I have pre rushmore and kinda a pain to find things sometimes.

Had an 08 street glide. Only problem I ever had was the plug in the throttle body would vibrate out just enough to put it in limp mode

He should honestly go to a dealership and ride several to get a feel of the different models. I had a 08 Street Glide that I bought new and had great luck with it. Traded in 2023 for a RG ST.

@RideorRot what years on the road glide? same years 09-16? I have to try our both when I go to the dealership to see which feel I like better. I do like the gauges setup better on the street glide

ever since I bought my 2020 cvo, I've been hearing about the oil pumps in the '17 up to '20 M8 causing sumping. but 2020 apparently was the "upgraded design". can you shed any light on that?

So I'm 6'6" and never rode before. I was thinking an Electra glide 2007 and up for a first bike. What would you recommend?

I always recommend people to check out the road glide also if you’re looking for street glides and vice versa. Im always surprised at how many don’t realize the difference in riding between the two.
